September 10, 2009 - Patio view was relaxing, bistro salad was fresh and crisp, the chicken mango guacamole sandwich great and the cheddar ale soup is must. Just far enough off the strip for privacy. Michael Hahn
"LOVED IT!!!!!" September 08, 2009 - Went to dinner with 6 others, we sat in the secluded dining area and felt like we were in someone’s kitchen. What great decor.....We were pleasantly surprised with the food. We really thought it was going to be a tourist trap. But, instead we had great food, the tomato cream cheese soup is to die for. Everything was wonderful, including our server.."Ritchie "Can't wait to go back with the girls on girl’s weekend!! Andrea
"Wonderful ambiance & 5 star all the way!" September 01, 2009 - Ken and Rick have created a wonderful place to enjoy mimosas or your favorite beer or wine along with a delicious meal. I had their "Chicken Cavatappi" and will have it there again and again. Tender chunks of chicken with smoked apple bacon, asparagus and sundried tomatoes are in this dreamy, creamy garlic brie sauce and all served over cavatappi pasta. My partner had their "Phily Steak Sandwich" and the tender prime rib of beef was fantastic. You are in the heart of the beautiful town of Lake Geneva and the service makes you really feel "at home". Go there now! Larry
"sweet little bar and restaurant" August 16, 2009 - Very intimate with outside dining. Great bar, good wine selections and quite good food. I love the view of the lake from the patio. sally

| Just a quick note of thanks for serving us a wonderful meal last night. We were the family with the two children who came here every year from Saint Louis. The great meal was only rivaled by the fantastic service. We’ll look forward to seeing you again. Be well. Dave Whiting

Hi Ken and Rick:
My husband James and I dined with you Saturday evening (had a few glasses of wine Friday evening) in the bar area.
We had such a wonderful time--food was great, ambience terrific.
This is the type of restaurant that Lake Geneva needs to make the city more of a must-go location for sophisticated diners from Chicago.
It was really lovely.
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.
We wish you both the best of luck and hope your business flourishes.

Hi Ken and Rick, I just wanted to write and tell you what an amazing night my friend Pegg and I had at Bistro 220 last weekend. On Friday we had lunch, the Vegetable Lasagna was delicious, as was the Vegetable Pizza. We were delighted with the decor, warm, inviting and intimate. Your friendly conversation and courtesy convinced us we had to have dinner at Bistro on Saturday night. Unfortunately, when we arrived by 8:30 you were sold out of several dishes, but Pegg's choice was still available, the Tuna Steak. She did enjoy it and was not disappointed. The rice side dish was also one of her favorites of the evening. I chose the Chicken Cavatappi. I would not normally choose a chicken dish, but it was delicious! The pasta with the creamy brie sauce with bacon and asparagus was delightful! The suggested wines were also very good. However, another reason we had such an amazing evening was our waiter, Mark. He was an attentive waiter, very helpful and gracious. He was also nice enough to sit with us and share his apple desert over coffee, and we had a very interesting and entertaining conversation. We sat and talked until almost 11 PM. What a wonderful dining experience it was, one we'll always remember. Should we find ourselves back in Lake Geneva, we would love to return to Bistro 220. Thanks again, Irene

My daughter, Lisa, and I experienced a wonderful day together in Lake Geneva topped by a delightful and delicious late lunch at Bistro 220. We were treated so well and enjoyed the restaurant so very much we wanted to thank you again in writing.
The paintings and all other detailed decorator touches, including the fans on the balcony, make the entire experience wonderful for us. We both enjoy the quality of the decorating, food preparation and exceptional service. Thank you very much for making our day extra special. We will visit again as soon as we can and are sending our friends to be spoiled by you as well.
Thanks for hanging in there on the tough road to the opening and for the beautiful oasis you’re created in an already wonderful town.
Be blessed –

I just wanted to let you know what a nice experience it was to celebrate my Birthday at your Bistro. We were looking to find a new and interesting Restaurant in Lake Geneva to meet my sisters and their husbands for lunch. We all live in different cities each about 1.50 hours from Lake Geneva and often drive there to meet and spend the day. Your restaurant was the perfect place to do that. The cozy atmosphere and the friendly service exceeded our expectations and the food choices were very interesting and tempting. All 6 of us enjoyed our selections and the chocolate fudge brownie desert was to die for.
We certainly look forward to eatting at Bistro 220 again!
Sincerely,
Susan and Family

Ken and Rick -
Just a note to congratulate you on the masterpiece you have created on Cook Street. Besides the obvious, meaning the renovation of the building, your restaurant is a gem.
Your cuisine is very refreshing and wonderfully delicious. As was your server, Mark.
Thank you for making our evening great!

February 21, 2010 - Likes it - This restaurant is everything you expect from Lake Geneva and a must do if you are visiting. My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of experiencing on Valentine's Day this year and it was the best meal we have ever had. The atmosphere is cozy, the food delicious and the owner's, Rick and Ken, are present and insuring service is top notch. Don't miss this gem!!

Trip Advisor:
You MUST eat here! It's fantastic” Bistro 220 14 Mar 2010 The building is an old home and the upstairs has been decorated beautifully. Cozy and warm, we ate on the covered porch which had space heaters and was bright at lunchtime. Our waitress was really friendly and positive and answered our menu questions. I had an excellent philly steak sandwich on an excellent onion ciabatta roll and my friend had a simple turkey club, and the broccoli cheese soup was good. We enjoyed some nice bubbly and a delightful lunch. We ate other places over the weekend, but this was by far our favorite restaurant. They are celebrating their 1 year anniversary soon, and we hope to be back next time we are in town. While we were there they were beer and wine only, but I think they are working on a full bar license.

The appetizers and dinners were delicious and Tina provided great service.

Ken and Rick, We were at your beautiful restaurant last night for dinner. The abeyance is warm, romantic, I loved the bar room and all your fountains, the one in front with gold fish in it was a nice touch. The outside of the restaurant is attractive, the landscaping and plants were rich, full looking. The food was delicious, the tuna was done to perfection, the sauce in the Steak Diane was unique and flavorful, my stuffed shrimp was succulent, the stuffed salmon was another unique creation. The vegetarian lasagna my daughter had was full bodied and homemade. The waitress was very friendly, efficient and brought me a sampling of that chocolate wine which I've never seen before, it was a dessert wine and excellent. I loved the open faucets in your bathroom, very warm and homey. The inside of the restaurant was most welcoming and had a beautiful indoor/outdoor patio grotto feel, love those stamped ceilings. All in all, the meal, surroundings and service was four star. Thanks for a memorable Birthday meal.

My Wife and I spent the day in Lake Geneva celebrating our 4th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, 9/26. We took our boat out on the lake for a little bit, then parked downtown and did our usual walk. Typically, we would eat at Popeye’s or Cactus Club (when it was still Cactus Club). That day, however, we wanted something different and we happened to see one of your menus in one of the stores we were walking through. So, we gave it a shot.
We had a WONDERFUL experience overall. The waiter (sorry, but I can’t remember his name…he was a Hispanic gentleman in his mid to late 20s I’d guess) was excellent. We sat out on the enclosed porch and although it wasn’t TOO terribly cold, there was definitely a bit of a chill in the air. He offered my wife a blanket if she got cold. She didn’t need one then but did take him up on it later.
Our meals (she had the Steak Dianne and I had the Stuffed Shrimp) was the perfect size and were both excellent. We both actually really appreciated the fact that they weren’t gut buster meals. So many places I go to serve such huge portions that you’re either guilted into eating the whole thing (and feeling horrible later) or you end up taking it back home and many times it doesn’t get eaten or if you’re walking around you have to carry the food with you…either way, we were happy to see the portion size was manageable.
Because the dinner wasn’t so filling, we had room for dessert and selected the mint chocolate chip ice cream concoction. WOW. That was excellent.
Overall, we couldn’t have been more happy with the evening and we will definitely return on a regular basis. Thank you again and best of luck!
Best regards,
Ron and Patty Baker

Hello, I just want to thank you all at Bistro 220 for again being part of a very enjoyable evening. I have been there a handful of times & always have had the best service, awesome food, wonderful drinks & cozy yet fun atmosphere. This past Saturday, I went on a date with an ex girlfriend (we were trying to reconnect again). Starting off at Bistro 220 couldn't have been a better decision! I have nothing but praise for your establishment. These tough economic times sometimes make it difficult to go out & have a nice meal as often as I'd like to, but when I do, Bistro 220 will be my 1st choice, & my 1st recommendation to my friends & family. Every penny spent is well worth it! Best wishes to all! Your truly, Jeff Francois

Hey Bistro 220! I raved to about 70 people about the burger I had there yesterday :) Everything was SO delicious. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and the special extra attention you gave us, but also seemed to give everyone else with comfort and ease. The atmosphere at your place is amazing and it's one of my favorite r...estaurants now. And our food was served so quickly we were early for our next appointment, which Never happens LOL! Sorry it took me so long to come over, but expect to see me much more frequently! Keep up the great work and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU :)
